Yay for Squares return with Geography and pick up where they left off with up-tempo anthems, a whiff of 90s grunge, and the occasional extended instrumental indulgence.

Yay for Squares began in 2006 in Waco, Tx and immediately released their first EP, which featured songs with anthemic choruses, hard rock riffs, and catchy yet emotional lyrics. After a year packed with high-energy shows and rapidly building regional excitement, the band parted ways in 2007 while working on their second EP "The confidence list".

After a chance reunion in early 2013 Justin Horrell (drums & backup vocals) and Caleb Lee (lead singer & guitar) discussed finishing the EP to bring that chapter to a better close.

Plans were made and Caleb flew to California from Texas to record at Justin's studio, intending to have Jason Himstedt (bass) record his tracks over the mixes from Georgia.

Upon arriving in California, Caleb found that secret plans had been made for Jason to join them in the recording process in person.

Ecstatic about this unexpected reunion the band was back together playing live in the same room together for the first time in over five years. The passion and energy was back and they cranked out eight songs worth of basic tracks in just under four days.

Over the next year Justin, collaborating remotely with the other members, added overdubs, harmonies, and sweeteners to the tracks; ultimately mixing and mastering the collection himself.

The finals were agreed upon and art was created by Jathan Carter (Brain and Machine in Austin, Tx.), a close friend of the band.

So here the album is seven years, and hundreds of hours later, with every bit as much energy and excitement as though it was the first time the three members ever stepped on a stage together.
